Why KDD Uses AI

  • We do not use AI to streamline our team or reduce our workforce.
  • We use AI to help our team with their work.
  • We do not use AI to do our team’s work.
  • We use AI to facilitate creativity.
  • We do not use AI to replace creativity.
  • We use AI to be a better marketing partner to our clients and deliver higher-quality work.
  • We do not use AI to remove ourselves, our creativity, or our expertise from our partnerships.
  • In short, KDD infuses the power of AI in our work while maintaining respect toward our clients and our team and upholding our company values.

How KDD Uses AI

We will use AI…

  • To suggest content headlines, topics, and outlines
  • To assist with crafting social post text, ad copy, and website metadata.
  • To generate images if we have received client approval first.
  • As an editing tool.
  • To analyze data.
  • As a research tool, but always fact-check.
  • As an account management tool.
  • For code writing on a small scale.

We won’t…

  • Use AI to generate images when the client has not agreed to it.
  • Use AI to generate long-form content such as blogs, website content, email newsletters, articles, case studies, presentations, and other comprehensive written content.
  • Use AI to generate photos of people.
  • Use AI to generate videos.
  • Use AI to fully develop or design websites.
  • Feed any sensitive, proprietary, or confidential information into generative AI.
  • Accept resumés, cover letters, or sample work created by generative AI.
  • Represent any generative AI work as our own work.

Tools

We continue to build our roster of AI Tools. Team KDD will not use any tools outside of this (evolving) list:

  • ChatGPT (pro version)
  • Claude
  • Gemini
  • iStock image generator
  • Grammarly
  • Descript
  • Zoom AI Companion
  • Meta AI
  • Adobe Firefly

Accountability

We do not outsource our responsibility to machines. Team KDD is always responsible for their actions, and AI is not a replacement for our common sense, expertise, or good judgment. Our policy is that when we do use AI, it will be thoroughly reviewed for quality and accuracy. And in the case of any negative outcomes from AI-assisted content, as would be the case with any negative outcomes from any KDD-assisted content, we will take responsibility and correct the issue as necessary.

Privacy

We believe in protecting the privacy of our customers, our team, and our own intellectual property. Our tools have been chosen in part because of their privacy policies. We will never submit sensitive, proprietary, or confidential client, team or KDD data into AI or LLMs to safeguard our data and ensure it is not used to train publicly accessible AI.

Ethical Consideration

AI is a tool meant to enhance our creativity and efficiency. We do not use it as a tool to mislead or manipulate. Any content created with AI will be in line with our KDD values. All content created or edited with AI will be reviewed by humans to ensure there is no bias or inaccuracies.

Training

All team members involved in using AI will receive training. The training will include both the proper use of the tools outlined above and the guidelines and principles in this policy.
